Within the framework of the project TÁMOP-4.1.1.C-12/1 / Konv-2012-0015, "Higher Education Cooperation in the Water Sector", the Faculty of Water Science of the National Public Service University has developed a Digital Knowledge Base for Water (VDT).Faculty of Water Science, National University of Public ServiceThe Faculty of Water Science was the "youngest" unit of the National University of Public Service, which started its operation on 1 February 2017 in Baja. The faculty was formed by the merger of the Eötvös József Institute of Water Supply and Environmental Engineering and the Institute of Water Construction and Water Management into the National University of Public Service. Thanks to the predecessors of the faculty, it has a history of more than 50 years. Baja water management training is of national importance and is one of the most important supply bases in the sector. Not only is the phrase: future water management will fundamentally determine the development of the world, including Hungary, economic performance, food safety, environmental status and quality of life of the population. The availability of water of sufficient quantity and quality, and the control of water damage, make water management a strategic sector. In general, it is true that we do not know today what kind of professions society and economy will need in 20 years. Perhaps water management is an exception. The water industry will be indispensable as long as water is the basis of earthly existence. It is a key area, as there is no economic sector to which it would not be bound, which would not depend on the water management elementally. Much of the global change in the world is already happening due to water, or through water. Engineering and water diplomacy are among the most important values of the 21st century. That is why the government is giving priority to water and related training. The two faculty currently involved in two basic and advanced training courses continue the tradition of engineering-based water management, which has a history of nearly two centuries in Hungary, with vast experience and knowledge. It is unlikely that the training of water specialists is one of the most mature in Hungary, and our engineers are looking for everywhere in the world. Engineering existence determines the whole life of man. It covers professional knowledge that people at all ages combine with ingenuity, reliability and stability. However, our long-term goal goes beyond engineering training: we want to become a major research and education center in international water management. Our courses are going on in Baja, but other units of the university are also involved. From July 2017, the Facultys teaching staff has been expanded with a new institution. Among others, the Institute for Sustainable Development Studies has introduced new disciplines in the field of water diplomacy and international water management to the Faculty of Water Science. The one who comes to the water is the expert of the future. With the involvement of the National Public Service University, a knowledge base will be created to provide excellent water management professionals to the Hungarian state and the companies involved in water management.About the TÁMOP projectIn the framework of the TÁMOP project, a consortium led by the Pannon University of Veszprém, the Eötvös József College set the goal of expanding, transforming, adapting to the practical needs, partially renewing curricula and curricula, developing content and technology; a higher education institution. We have set up and run a differentiated, complex system of higher education services for the water sector for the training and supply of water management professionals. In the framework of the TÁMOP project, we have developed mobile application development in connection with one of the results of the Digital Knowledge Library.
